EXHIBITIONS

16 01 2020 art galleri Montjuic, Barcelona
For 29 years Dolores has lived predominantly outside of Bulgaria, her life splits between Spain and her native country.
In a special material dedicated on the exhibition, the Bulgarian National Radio reminded us that Dolores Atanasova Zdravkova is a former Olympic rowing champion.
“This is an exhibition that presents my latest work from recent months. These are paintings of an abstract nature, mixed techniques from the last years of my work,” said on air Dolores Atanasova Zdravkova, born in Ruse.
Her childhood she spent in the yard of the opera in Ruse, where her mother was an opera singer. The man who gave her impetus for development in the field of art is Petar Petrov, a famous artist from Ruse.
“Although most things in my life were focused on my sports career, I later found a way to educate myself, work on my talents, and then after I went to live in Spain, I paid way more attention on doing a more academic education in arts. I spent 7-8 years in the northern part of Spain, where at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ponte Vedra I had the opportunity to take courses with different professors so that I could give academicity to what I consider to be my talent” said Dolores.
Academic rowing is an important part of Zdravkova’s life. She was a starter in the national team of Bulgaria for 10 years.
“I can safely say that rowing was the important moment for me that made me the person I am today.”

09 10 2020 Relatives by choice, Sofia
“Relatives by choice”
Geshov Gallery was pleased to host the first solo exhibition of paintings by the artist Dolores Zdravkova – “Relatives by choice”.
Dolores Zdravkova creates and exhibits her works mainly in Spain /Barcelona/. With her “Relatives by Choice” exhibition, which is a non-accidental reference to the novel of the same name by Goethe, it will be presented to the Bulgarian public.
The artist’s preferences are for bold, free abstract painting. Dolores Zdravkova takes the risk to share her “relatives of choice” in the expression, in the imagined and liberated and somewhat tamed emotion on the canvas. In her technique, the artist has managed to create balances between the controlled drawing and the emotional explosion of colors. They have strength, density, sound and depth. Inexhaustibly reveal internal spaces and volumes.
The meeting with each artwork is also an opportunity for self-reliance and catharsis. The opening of the exhibition happened on 09.10.2020, at 6.30 pm in Geshov Gallery on 4 Serdika Str, Sofia 1000, Bulgaria.
