lola's biography

Born in Ruse, Republic of Bulgaria. Her mother, Ksenia Vl. Bachinska,
was an opera singer and her father, Atanas Nakov, was an engineer.
From an early age she showed artistic interests and skills. The famous Ruse artist and family friend Petar Popov appreciated her aspirations in the fine arts and became her first teacher in painting. She studied music – singing and stage culture with music teacher Snezhina Yakimova in Ruse.
At the age of 16 she actively practiced sports – academic rowing. She achieved high sportsmanship, winning the World Championship title for Bulgaria in New Zealand in 1978, Vice-World title in Bled (Slovenia) in 1979, and the Olympic medal in 1980 at the World Olympic Games in Moscow.
In 1984 graduated from National Sports Academy but also continued her artistic journey as an author in fine art. After 1991 she went to live in Spain. There she attended courses at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Ponta Vedra, Vigo University, Galicia in 1993, more concretely – in a course in graphics and a workshop with Jose Antonio Sastro Muniz.
Consecutively she passed:
– Course in 1994 in sculpture with Prof. Ignacia Barcia Rodriguez
– Course in 1996. and a project on topics – surrealism with Prof. Manuel Moldes
In the period 1992-1995 she participated in group compositions and became a member of the guild of applicators in Galicia, Kingdom of Spain. Since 1999 she lives in Barcelona and became a member of the Royal Artistic Circle of Catalonia “Reial Cercle Artistic”.
Dolores Zdravkova – Lola was included in the European Catalogue of Spanish Artists in 1997, and in 2000 she was a teacher of Mr. Manuel Santafe Vincentes along with critic Fernando Farinha.
Dolores’ paintings are in the possession of many galleries and private collections in Spain, Bulgaria, Germany and Japan.
